National Council Session

The National Council convenes every three years at the National Council Session, and will next meet in October 2017. Composed of delegates elected by each Girl Scout council, the National Council is the governing body of Girl Scouts. Among its responsibilities, the National Council:

  • Elects a board of directors and a national board development committee
  • Amends the constitution
  • Establishes requirements for credentials
  • Acts on proposals
  • Influences the strategic direction of the Movement by providing guidance to the National Board
