Making Blueberry Syrup from Scratch

I remember when I was put in charge of making blueberry syrup from scratch for a Parents Day breakfast. I was terrified that I would mess up, but thanks to my leaders I did well.

I was so proud to have my parents at breakfast enjoying what I made. It is the simpliest things in life that give you the most pleasure, and I think that is what I learned from being a Girl Scout.

In addition to winning my parents' approval, I earned a patch that day. Many years later, I can still recite the Girl Scout motto today.
