Nestled in a wooded setting just 10 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands Hostel offers a chance to get away, wind down, and enjoy breathtaking ocean views and trails that lead from creekside to mountainside, open meadow to crashing surf. Tour the state-of-the-art Marine Mammal Center, and learn about the elephant seals, sea lions, and sea otters who are treated here and released back into the wild. Spend a half-day volunteering at the Native Plant Nursery, where seeds are collected to propagate hundreds of species native to National Parks.

Take a night hike led by a professional Naturalist, and venture without flashlights through twilight and darkness, relying on other senses to experience the world around you. Hike to nearby Rodeo Beach, and visit the Point Bonita Lighthouse and the only restored Nike missile site in the U.S. Extend your trip with a visit to Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Sausalito, or San Francisco.

$106.00 per person. Minimum group size is 8 people. Three overnights at the Marin Headlands Hostel, a Naturalist-led night hike, a self-guided or docent-led (depending on group size) tour of the Marine Mammal Center, a half-day volunteer program at the Native Plant Nursery, a Marin Headlands trail map and guide to nearby sights including the Point Bonita Lighthouse and Rodeo Beach, and a Girl Scouts Go Hostelling patch.

Adult Leaders/Advisors must accompany girls.

You don't have to complete the Girl Scout destinations application form for this event.  Just contact the project manager for a registration form and GO!! Remember to notify your council that you are traveling on a getaway.
