Iceland Exploration

Iceland is an island of contrasts - a land of glaciers, erupting volcanoes, and the midnight sun. If you are interested in geology this is the country for you!

Picture It

You and 13 Girl Scouts will experience whale watching, waterfalls, glaciers, icebergs, volcanoes and hot springs. Spend a day with the local Girl Guides. Imagine yourself exploring with the Vikings as you discover their history. Learn about the interesting Icelandic sagas and geothermal energy.

Map It

Reykjavik, Iceland
Stay in comfortable hostels throughout the program. Visit Reykjavik, Arbaer Outdoor Museum, Saga Museum, Videy Island, Hvalfjordur Bay, Glymur Waterfal, local farms, Borgarfjordur and Saga Valley, Reykholt, Stykkisholmur, Breidafjordur Bay, the “Golden Circle” (Thingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir Hot Spring) and Hellisheidi Geothermal Plant, Blue Lagoon.

    Must be 15–18 years old at the time of the event.

  • A packing list will be sent upon registration.
  • U.S. (or other country) passport required

A $200 deposit will be due immediately upon acceptance to the event.  It is part of the event fee, not in addition to it.

Beverages with meals consist of teas, juices, and/or tap water (all bottled water is extra). Please note that on the arrival day, meals will be in the plane. On departure day only breakfast will be provided. You will be responsible for your own round-trip airfare from your home city to New York JFK. Fees include airfare from New York to Iceland, program event fees, transportation, food and accommodations.

Air Reservations: Holbrook can assist with booking your flight to New York. Contact Wendy Frazier at wendy@holbrooktravel.com. Arrival needs to be on 7/25. Departure will be after 4:00 p.m. on 8/2.

Land cost includes: Mandatory travel/trip cancellation insurance, all accommodations, transportation, expert local guide, activities, and all meals except on 7/25, lunch and dinner on 7/26 and dinner on 8/2.
