Discover Nantucket’s wildlife on a naturalist guided walk, and relax at Surfside Beach located across the street from the hostel. With flat, paved bike lanes, Nantucket is perfect for intermediate and advanced cyclists. Drop your things off at HI-Nantucket and let Easy Riders deliver your bikes. Peddle into Nantucket Village where you will find your kayaks waiting. Paddle through the calm protected waters of Nantucket Harbor, and explore 7 miles of deserted beach by kayak.

At night, enjoy an excellent BBQ and exchange tales with international travelers over a fire and s’mores. Learn about native wildlife on a 90 minute naturalist guided field walk through the UMASS Boston Field Station. Afterward, visit the Nantucket Shipwreck and Life-Saving Museum. Learn about the network of lifesaving stations that once covered the East Coast. HI-Nantucket originated as a lifesaving station. Learn more about the historic accommodation.

Be It

Groups who plan to use bicycles as their primary mode of transportation should be at least intermediate level cyclists.

  • May 25, 2013–September 15, 2013; $189
    Must be 11–17 years old at the time of the event.

Get It

Bathing suit and comfortable clothes for biking and kayaking.

$ It

$189 per participant. A minimum of 8 participants is needed.

Three overnights, three breakfasts, one barbecue dinner, three day bike rental, two hour kayak rental, 90 minute guided field walk and admission to the Shipwreck and Lifesaving museum.

Note:

Adult Leaders/Advisors must accompany girls. 

You don't have to complete the Girl Scout destinations Application Form for this event.  Just contact the event sponsor to sign up.  Remember to notify your council that you are traveling on a getaway.
