Vegas Lights thru Teenage Girl Scout Eyes
Learn what it’s like to be a Teen Age Girl Scout amid the glitz and glamour of “Fabulous Las Vegas” and discover the city underneath the Vegas Lights.
See the fabulous Las Vegas that only the locals know and love. Take in the sights and sounds of the glamorous Las Vegas Boulevard and it’s many popular attractions. Then, get ready to become more than a tourist when you go beyond the famous Strip as you experience all that living in the desert has to offer through hiking, conservation, canoeing and a local service project. Picture It With 23 other Girl Scout from around the country, you will enjoy Las Vegas attractions like Knights of the Round Table, Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden featuring their world famous white tigers, view the beauty of the Bellagio Indoor Garden, ride the New York, New York Roller Coaster, tour the Ethel-M Candy factory and visit the Cactus Garden. Participate in a local service project by sewing dolls for an area shelter as well as making a little something for yourself. Call on your adventurous side, as you canoe the Colorado River by moonlight and hike up Mount Charleston, our own desert mountain, where you might also get to observe our native Big Horn Sheep. You will also learn about desert conservation efforts at the Springs Preserve, where water was first discovered in Nevada. Get It Canoe certification preferred, but not necessary. Canoe training will be provided during the event. $ It A $250.00 deposit will be due immediately upon acceptance to the event. This is part of the event fee, not in addition to it. Participants are responsible for their transportation costs to and from Las Vegas, NV and their own spending money.
