Making your money go a long way is all good. There’s nothing uncool about looking for a good deal, or saving a few bucks when you can. After all, it means that you’ll have more to spend on the things you need and want.

So what’s the plan? Shop when that cute bag you’ve been eyeing is on sale. Always check if there’s a student discount on tickets for shows, museums, or travel. And work those special offers and freebies, like buying your fave makeup when the store is giving out those awesome free extras.

Great rules to live by:

Don’t spend money that you don’t have to.
Avoid extra charges and fees, like for using an ATM at a bank where you don’t have an account, or choosing full service at the gas pump.
Be timely. After all, paying late fees is a major no-no.

Are You a Bargain Hunter?

I never wait for anything to go on sale–when I want something, I just have to have it!
I signed up for my student discount card at the bookstore, but sometimes I don’t bother to use it or I just forget.
I’m a sucker for "buy two, get one free" deals. The more the merrier.

I’ll walk an extra couple of blocks to use an ATM that won’t charge me fees. Hey, those extra dollars really add up!
