Girl Scouts of the USA and Ember Media Announce Launch of TheKey2: An Interactive Guide to the Top Colleges and Universities for Hispanics

Second version of free CD-ROM offers Hispanic teens and families powerful career tools.

New York, N.Y.—Today Girl Scouts of the USA and Ember Media, a CD-ROM publishing company, released TheKey2: An Interactive Guide to the Top Colleges and Universities for Hispanics, a free bilingual CD-ROM for Hispanic students. This second version of TheKey2 features a powerful career resource center from The Princeton Review, which enables students to explore diverse career choices, the skills needed to enter into various professions, and a glimpse into the salary range these professions offer. Girl Scouts co-sponsored the creation of this innovative CD-ROM to make information about the college application process more accessible to Hispanic students, parents, and educators. This free CD-ROM will be distributed to over 5,400 public schools and libraries nationwide.

TheKey2 connects Hispanic students to a virtual guidance counselor that steers students and parents through the college admissions and financial aid process. The CD-ROM also offers bilingual content so users can choose between Spanish and English to view profiles of over 200 schools, watch and hear video testimonials from Hispanic community leaders and celebrities, and access links to the latest online SAT and ACT test preparation guide, along with tutorials for writing college essays and filling out applications.
