Girl Scouts of the USA is proud of its 100-year relationship with the Catholic Church and is very pleased the US Conference of Catholic Bishops has included on its website pages titled "Questions and Answers About Girl Scouts of the USA and About Catholic Scouting" and "Background on Girl Scouts of the USA and USCCB Conversations." April 7, 2013, Annual Scouting Mass, St Patrick's Cathedral: His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan and Anna Maria Chávez, CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA, presented Spirit Alive Awards to young women from Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Council. Cardinal Dolan also presented Ms. Chávez with the Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal, an award that recognizes her outstanding contributions to the growth and development of young women in the Girl Scouts.
