Personal Concerns

Girls find various aspects of life important to them—close relationships with their moms, success in school, and healthy living for themselves and people close to them. After-school programs—scientific, technical, and non-technical—are also valuable and of interest to girls.

• Over 90% of girls say they are close to their moms: close (55%) or close as best friends (37%). Only 8% say they are not that close or not close at all.

• The top three resolutions for girls for the new year are getting good grades (64%), eating healthy (36%), and being a better person (29%). See the chart below for the full list of girls' resolutions and percentages.
