Girl Scout Councils Join GSUSA on Charitable Tax Deductions for Non-Itemizing Taxpayers Letter

In early September, Girl Scouts of the USA joined other nonprofit organizations on a letter to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chair, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), in support of the reinstatement of the charitable deduction for non-itemizing taxpayers. Following GSUSA's sign-on, the Public Policy and Advocacy Office sent e-mail alerts to all Girl Scout councils asking them to join us. We have had an overwhelming response. Nearly half of all Girl Scout councils have joined GSUSA in this effort. By signing this letter, councils are helping in our collective efforts to promote charitable giving for the non-profit sector and strengthen Girl Scouts and the communities we serve.
