Job Summary Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta seeks a professional Equestrian Director to supervise our year-round and summer resident camp horse program at Camp Meriwether in Luthersville, Georgia. This position includes onsite housing and utilities. For a complete job description, please visit the Web site of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta at http://www.gsgatl.org/contact_us/default.asp?page=job_opportunities EOE Job Qualifications •Significant experience working with and managing a herd (is required) •Able to teach all skill levels of riders ages 6–17 in both English and Western disciplines, in both large and small groups •Able to communicate effectively with children, adolescents, and adults (essential) •Some veterinary and farrier knowledge (helpful) •Girl Scout experience and/or experience working with children in a camp setting (preferable) •Strong communication skills •Capability to organize and accomplish office tasks accurately, efficiently, and independently •Able to observe and evaluate staff, volunteers, and riders’ performance and provide appropriate •Able to evaluate program and event quality •Strong problem solving and decision making skills •Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook •Able to walk across strenuous terrain to all areas of camp •Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds •Minimum three years’ documented experience as a riding instructor •Current certification in first aid and CPR (required) •At least 21 years of age Special Instructions For more information, please contact the council directly.
