Thanks to the support of the many nonprofit organizations and other institutions, Girl Scouts of the USA is able to offer girls many more opportunities to explore their diverse interests and cultivate valuable leadership skills. Learn how you can add your name to our list of affiliates.


Alpine Training Services

Alpine Training Services provides opportunities for personal growth through adventure programming that emphasizes leadership as well as opportunities
for girls to be challenged, inspired and empowered.  Immersion in nature also provides unique opportunities for self reflection, creating community and developing leadership and communication skills.


American Heart Association's Go Red For Women®

Girl Scouts of the USA is proud to join forces with the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement to raise awareness of women's number one killer—heart disease. The color red and the red dress now stand for the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives. CARECARE

CARE and GSUSA launched the Power of Girls, an initiative focused on education and leadership to mobilize girls in the United States about the critical issues impacting girls around the world.


Costa Rica RainforestCosta Rica Rainforest Outward Bound School

The Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound School (CRROBS) offers specially designed courses for Girl Scouts to participate in service projects, experience the cultural history of Costa Rica, acquire wilderness skills, and challenge themselves through a number of outdoor adventure activities.


Earth Hour

As part of Girl Scouts Forever Green 100th Anniversary Take Action Project, Girl Scouts will join in a global symbolic action for the planet by turning off their lights for Earth Hour from 8:30–9:30 pm on the last Saturday of March and making a commitment to take Earth Hour beyond the hour by installing ENERGY STAR® or other energy-efficient light bulbs and to ultimately reduce carbon emissions throughout the year and beyond, while also increasing the visibility of Girl Scouts in every community.  


EF Tours

EF Tours offers Girl Scout troops and groups customized educational tours to the four WAGGGS world centers and to more than 50 other countries around the world.


Global Explorers

Global Explorers believes its educational, experiential travel experience—emphasizing self-discovery, cultural immersion and meaningful service—teaches girls to better understand their place in an interconnected
world and inspires them to make the world a better place.


Holbrook

Holbrook’s innovative educational adventure programs, co-sponsored with local Girl Scout councils, provide unique opportunities for girls to explore biologically important ecosystems around the world, while also enhancing their understanding of diverse cultures and responsibility to nature.


Hostelling International

Hostelling International offers affordable and customized adventures
at more than 30 hostels around the U.S. and provides programs to thousands of Girl Scouts each year on responsible and culturally sensitive travel.


Independent Television Service

Independent Television Service (ITVS) brings high-quality public broadcast and new media programs to communities through the national engagement program, Community Cinema, and the national education program, Community Classroom, featuring Women’s Empowerment film modules and lesson plans for older Girl Scout groups and troops.


Kappa Delta Sorority

Kappa Delta collegiate chapters and alumnae associations across the country volunteer with Girl Scouts, participating in activities ranging from badge-earning events to mentoring girls working on Gold Award projects. In November, 2010, Girl Scout councils will collaborate on the first ever National Girls Day, an event Kappa Delta created to celebrate the spirit of
girls. GSUSA is also as a partner in Kappa Delta’s Confidence Coalition.


National Association of Elementary School Principals

The mission of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) is to advocate for and support elementary and middle level principals and other education leaders. The NAESP encourages its membership to partner with their local Girl Scouts to support Girl Scouts Forever Green.


National Association of Secondary School Principals

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) is the voice for middle and high school principals, assistant principals, and aspiring school leaders from across the United States and more than 45 countries around the world. The NASSP and Girl Scouts Forever Green support student leaders and excellence in school leadership.


ncivNational Council for International Visitors

The National Council for International Visitors (NCIV), a membership association dedicated to leadership in citizen diplomacy, has partnered with Girl Scouts to facilitate international visitor exchanges focused on girls and women’s leadership.

 


National School Boards Association

The National School Boards Association, working with and through its State Associations, advocates for equity and excellence in public education through school board leadership.
The NSBA also endorses Girl Scouts Forever Green.



National Urban League

Girl Scouts of the USA has joined the National Urban League's "I am Empowered" campaign. The campaign, part of the Urban League’s centennial celebration, is a public service initiative designed to rally millions ofAmericans around education, employment, housing and healthcare. Pledge online to achieve the following goals by 2025:


Outward Bound Wilderness

Outward Bound, celebrating more than 40 years of experiential education, serves more than 60,000 young people and adults each year. Special courses are offered to Girl Scouts who want to share an intense wilderness experience, as well as benefit from opportunities to meet physical and mental challenges.


Peace Corps

Peace Corps volunteers, who serve in more than 70 developing countries, are often available to speak to Girl Scout groups and troops about their experiences. (See Tip Sheet: About Peace Corps Speakers, and ask about free multimedia resources.)


Plastic Pollution Coalition

The goal of the Plastic Pollution Coalition is to end plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on people, animals and the environment. GSUSA is currently a member of the coalition, and as such the PPC supports Girl Scouts Forever Green in its aim to reduce plastic waste.



United Nations

GSUSA uses its Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council to provide information about the work of the UN and to bring the voice of girls to the global stage. GSUSA also participates in two annual UN conferences that examine global gender equality, and supports the eight Millennium Development Goals to end poverty in 2015.


U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

The goal of the EPA is to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment—air, water, and land. An environmental education partner, the EPA collaborates with GSUSA on the Linking Girls to the Land partnership and supports the Girl Scouts Forever Green annual signature 100th Anniversary Take Action Project.


U.S. Fund for UNICEF

TeachUNICEF is a portfolio of UNICEF-focused resources designed for educators, volunteers, and parents of children in grades 3-12, and can be downloaded for free. The units, lesson plans, stories, and multimedia cover topics ranging from the Millennium Development Goals to water and sanitation.


U.S. Green Building Council

USGBC is committed to a sustainable future through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. In 2007, the USGBC launched the National Green Schools CampaignChapters are the local voice of USGBC, and chapter members are key to raising awareness about green buildings and communities.  Through the Girl Scouts Forever Green annual 100th Anniversary Take Action Project, Girl Scouts are encouraged to partner with USGBC chapter volunteers to learn more about green buildings and energy saving practices.


U.S. Space & Rocket Center

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center offers a two-week auxiliary education experience in aviation and aerospace for Girl Scouts. Programs are designed to inspire young people to study math and science by letting them participate in the high-technology activities of fighter and test pilots, astronaut training activities and simulated flying, space shuttle, and international space station missions.


World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts

WAGGGS, the official umbrella organization for all 145 national Girl Guide and Girl Scout organizations in the world, has a membership of 10 million and nearly a million and a half adult volunteers. Through member organizations and working directly with girls and young women, WAGGGS delivers non-formal educational programs and international opportunities that provide girls and young women training in life skills, leadership and citizenship.
