Girl Scouting in Rural Communities is a USDA-funded program that brings the Girl Scout experience to girls who live in rural communities where access to extracurricular activities is limited. USDA agencies, including the U.S. National Forest Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service, are also key partners and have provided funding and in-kind contributions for GSUSA's Linking Girls to the Land program. Primarily, the USDA enhances the quality of life for Americans by supporting production of agriculture and ensuring a safe, affordable, nutritious, and accessible food supply.
