National Science Foundation (NSF)

The NSF continues to be a long-standing partner in Girl Scouts of the USA's quest to pique girls' interest in science. Since 1988, the NSF-funded National Science Partnership and Girls at the Center programs have linked thousands of girls around the country to science museums to explore science topics through hands-on science activities and encourage girl-centered family projects. In 2004, Girl Scouts of the USA, as part of the National Center for Women and Information Technology, received a NSF grant for nationwide evaluation and dissemination of effective practices for girls in computing. The NSF promotes the progress of science, advances the nation's health, prosperity, and welfare, and secures the national defense. Their commitment to ensuring that girls receive equity, opportunity, and support in the world of science and technology is unparalleled and appreciated by Girl Scouts everywhere. |
