Dell continues its collaboration with Girl Scouts of the USA by supporting the Digital Cookie™ platform, through the Girl Scout Cookie Program’s mobile and online channels. The platform helps girls go beyond the booth to provide online and entrepreneurial know-how and to take their cookie business to the next level while encouraging them to learn essential life skills. With a hands-on interface, Digital Cookie preps girls for future technological success in a fun, safe, and interactive way. The platform teaches girls about marketing, budgeting, resource allocation, and other crucial business skills. Girls explore how to invest their earnings and enthusiasm back into their communities and develop the confidence they need to be savvy digital entrepreneurs.
In addition, Dell has awarded select Girl Scout councils grants and devices to help engage underserved populations and increase girls’ participation. The following councils have been selected for the Dell Digital Cookie grant program:
- Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta
- Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains
- Girl Scouts of Northern California
- Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida
- Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma
“Entrepreneurs and small businesses are the engines of our global economy,” said Trisa Thompson, chief responsibility officer at Dell. “It is in all of our best interests to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit from a young age and support the digital literacy skills required to thrive in a connected world. By supporting Girl Scouts’ Digital Cookie platform, we help girls expand their existing cookie businesses and prepare them to be future female business leaders.”
