Microsoft Store and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) are excited to collaborate to inspire more girls to pursue their passions and transform the world into a better place.
Microsoft’s commitment to this mission is evident in its premier sponsorship of the 2019 National Gold Award Girl Scout celebration, a night dedicated to honoring the accomplishments of ten Girl Scouts who created innovative and sustainable solutions for today’s most pressing issues. Microsoft Store will host the event at its flagship store in New York City and livestream it to its other stores across the country.
In addition to applauding this year’s National Gold Award Girl Scouts, Microsoft is committed to encouraging and guiding future generations of Gold Award Girl Scouts by using its resources to ensure girls everywhere develop the skills and mindsets necessary to succeed in today’s economy. With this goal in mind, Microsoft Stores will host sessions during which girls work toward earning a myriad of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) badges, including the Computer Expert badge (Brownies), Digital Movie Maker badge (Cadettes), Digital Photographer badge (Juniors), and Robotics badge (Daisies and Brownies).
Thanks to Microsoft, middle and high school girls can also attend a quarterly speaker series at their local Microsoft Stores, where they will hear firsthand from accomplished Girl Scout alums about their paths to success.
Finally, Microsoft and GSUSA are working together to help Girl Scout alums continue learning and gaining new skills crucial for succeeding in the 21st century. Microsoft Stores will now offer workshops specifically for Girl Scout alums and supporters, with topics ranging from jumpstarting one’s career to starting their own business and getting organized.
Find and contact your local store to learn more details about workshops in your area.
