Girl Scout Challenge FAQs
Q. How do I participate in the 2016 Girl Scout Challenge?
A. Participation is easy! If you are 13 or older, all you have to do is submit a photo, tell us how you are building a better world, and complete the entry form. Under 13? No problem. Just ask a parent or guardian for help. It’s that simple.
Q. Do you have to be a Girl Scout to participate?
A. Yes. The Girl Scout Challenge is open to registered Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Alumnae from the past 5 years.
Q. What are the prizes and how many winners will be
A. There are eight prizes. Winners will be selected weekly from November 8th to December 27, 2016, receiving a one-time-only $500 MetLife Scholarship. Each winner will only be selected one time.
Q. My service work/project touches multiple areas—which one do I
A. Sometimes it’s hard to narrow your service work or project down to one category, so pick the one you think most closely resembles your work.
Q. Do I have to take a selfie? Can someone else take the
A. Selfies are preferred, but your photo doesn’t have to be one. As long as it shows the actions or steps you have taken to build a better world, your photo may be entered into the challenge.
Q. I added my photo to the gallery but I don’t see it. What
A. All entries are subject to a review process before being posted. Please allow 24–48 business hours for your entry to be approved.
Q. I already completed my project—can I still enter?
A. Thanks for building a better world! You sure can! The Girl Scout Challenge is open to all current, pending, and completed service work/projects by Girl Scouts. If you have already completed your service work/project, you can leave the field blank or enter “0.”
Q. How will winners be notified?
A. Winners will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org identifying them as a winner within one day of the drawing.
Q. How many times may I submit?
A. Submissions are limited to one entry per day and three unique submissions throughout the challenge. You may only win one (1) USD $500 scholarship.
