Ambassador First Aid Badge Activity
Handling Wilderness Emergencies
To learn from examples of people who have faced emergencies in the wilderness.
Time needed: 2–3 hours
- Or movie about a real-life example of a wilderness emergency
When you read about a tragedy or accident in which people are injured, often there’s an “everyday” person who doesn’t seem to panic and uses a little bit of training and a lot of courage to save someone’s life. Find out more about these everyday heroes.
Explore wilderness survival. Read a book or article, listen to a podcast, or watch a movie that tells a real-life story about people who faced an emergency in the wilderness. Note how they handled it, including what they did and didn’t do in responding.
