Historical Experience: Now, visitors can enjoy the Girl Scout Central Historical Experience, which includes:
Girl Scout Central
Check out our flagship retail store and event space in midtown Manhattan.
It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
Girl Scout Central offers a huge selection of modern and traditional products for Girl Scouts (and brand enthusiasts) of all ages—from Daisies to Gold Award Girl Scouts to volunteers to alums. Badges, patches, and uniforms? Check! Jewelry, toys, and camping gear? Yup! T-shirts, caps, and hard-to-find Girl Scout collectibles? We’ve got you covered!
The store is also a premier event space where Girl Scouts, councils, volunteers, and the New York City community gather for presentations, parties, panel discussions, workshops, and program-related activities.
Girl Scout Central is a must-see destination for every Girl Scout visiting New York City! You’ll connect with your inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ spirit—and have a great time while you’re at it.
Activities and Experiences
Girl Scout Central is also a place where visitors connect with one another and enjoy a hands-on historical experience as part of an awesome New York City adventure!
Chalkboard: Answer the special Girl Scout Central “Question of the Week,” or leave a message for your Girl Scout sisters on the chalkboard wall.
SWAPS: SWAPS (you know, Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere) are a Girl Scout tradition. So bring a small token of friendship to pin on the Girl Scout Central SWAPS wall, and take a SWAPS left by a visiting Girl Scout. So cool!
G.I.R.L. Selfie Wall: Take a selfie (or a groupie!) in front of our G.I.R.L. wall. Share your photo on social media with your troop and family back home. Remember to tag us using #girlscoutcentral.
- A video about Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low and the beginnings of the first Girl Scout troop in 1912
- A self-guided exhibit from the GSUSA archive collection, featuring vintage uniforms, scarves, camping gear, cookie boxes, photos, and more
Please note that space in the exhibit area is limited, so you may need to wait as we rotate visitors through the Historical Experience. If your group consists of 10 or more, please contact us via email with the date and time of your visit and number of attendees so we can plan for your group’s arrival.
Girl Scout NYC Bingo™: With all there is to see and do in New York City, what better way to check it all out than to explore with a few rounds of Girl Scout NYC Bingo? Visit the sites celebrating awesome women and girls who embody the G.I.R.L. spirit and who helped make New York one of the greatest cities in the world.
The all-new Girl Scout NYC Bingo kit includes two different bandanas (featuring awesome stuff to discover in New York), a custom patch to commemorate your trip, and a map of Manhattan to plan your adventure.
You can purchase the Girl Scout NYC Bingo kit at Girl Scout Central for $10. Additional patches and bandanas can be purchased for larger groups.
