With the 82nd Airborne Choir singing, children from Hoke County Foster Care Services and The Baptist Children's Home (The Odum Home) select a holiday gift for a loved one as well as receive a present for themselves. For kids in need, the holiday season can be a difficult time because many are unable to experience the fulfillment of giving even the simplest gift to a loved one or to get a present for themselves. These circumstances can lead to the "holiday blues" and lowered self-esteem.

Through a gift drive, Unilever employees collected gifts for the Marketplace. Local Unilever employees and Pines of Carolina Girl Scouts will also staff the Marketplace on Saturday, December 13. Uniquely ME! Girl Scouts ages 8–14 will help with decorations, wrap gifts, and work at the event. Children will enjoy games, face painting, and a visit with Santa. In addition, the 82nd Airborne Choir will be singing.

In addition to Unilever's Raeford Manufacturing Plant, 11 other Unilever Home & Personal Care facilities and Girl Scout councils across the nation and Puerto Rico are hosting gift drives and creating uniquely ME! Holiday Gift Marketplaces.

The uniquely ME! Holiday Gift Marketplace is part of the uniquely ME! THE GIRL SCOUT/UNILEVER SELF-ESTEEM PROGRAM, an initiative addressing the nationwide low self-esteem among adolescents, with a special focus on underprivileged communities. This program is only one of several initiatives supported by Unilever and Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council, which is committed to helping youth reach their full potential by addressing the physical, intellectual, and emotional aspects of self-esteem.
