New York, N.Y.— Minneapolis-based Manhattan Toy is teaming up with Girl Scouts of the USA, the world's preeminent leadership development organization dedicated solely to girls, to design a spirited, funky and confident line of Groovy Girls dolls and accessories — a widely acclaimed family of soft dolls that help girls celebrate personal style, diversity and the power of friendship — inspired by the Girls Scout mission to build girls' of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Manhattan Toy and Girl Scouts of the USA have entered into a three-year licensing agreement allowing Manhattan Toy to develop and market a collection of Groovy Girls dolls and accessories for the U.S. market with an anticipated launch date of fall 2007. The Girl Scout Promise and Law provide the inspiration for the initial doll premiere themes — honesty, respect, caring, friendliness, and courage — all color-coded and featuring an award/badge sash. Plans also include three special edition theme sets, doll uniforms and style accessories. All new products will be featured on groovygirls.com.
