Internship, Web Producer Intern, Interactive Marketing, Marketing and Communications

Summary of Position

The Interactive Marketing department is an integral part of the Marketing and Communications team at Girl Scouts of the USA. This department manages GirlScouts.org, the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, and all social media and email marketing for the organization. Interactive Marketing works with other GSUSA departments to provide support to 112 Girl Scout councils nationwide.

The web producer intern will be actively involved in many activities within the department, attending meetings, working with an integrated team, conducting business analysis, and handling some clerical responsibilities. There will be opportunities to interact with other departments as well as exposure to cross-platform projects. Under the guidance of a manager, the intern will be exposed to the interactive marketing and communications planning process.

Responsibilities:

•Enhance the website experience for prospective visitors under the guidance of the lead web producer

•Create compelling interactive infographics

•Optimize GirlScouts.org for different mobile devices

•Create web pages with strong SEO potential

Job Qualifications

•College student majoring in English, Marketing, Design, Programming, or any related field

• Expertise in the use of social media and the Internet

•Solid research skills

•Resourcefulness

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Solid computer skills, including facility in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

•Fluency in both English and Spanish a plus

•Great work ethic

Duration: June 3, 2013–August 8, 2013 (10 weeks)

Hours: 28 per week, Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Stipend: $ 1,800

Location: New York City
