Girl Scouts and Girl Guides are expected to wear their official uniforms when visiting the World Centers.
World Centers offer Girl Scouts and Girl Guides a comfortable and safe place for short stays or long-term accommodations, seminars, training sessions, and international events. Members and their families are encouraged to visit the centers, meet girls from other countries, and build lasting friendships.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) has World Centers located in United Kingdom, Switzerland, Mexico, India, and Africa.
Our Cabaña, located 47 miles from Mexico City, is a beautiful retreat in historic Cuernavaca. Our Cabaña is the largest of the four World Centers, can accommodate up to 90 guests, and offers five-, eight-, and nine-night sessions, including Girl Friendship sessions and Adult Adventure programs, throughout the year to girl and adult members of WAGGGS and GSUSA.
Our Chalet, located in the picturesque Swiss Alps, was the very first World Center to be built. Explore the network of trails and footpaths that lead to snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear waters, alpine forests, and wildflower meadows. Our Chalet offers a wide array of programs ranging from high-adventure activities to leadership seminars.
Pax Lodge, located in Hampstead Village, is just 20 minutes by train from the center of London. It’s an ideal base for exploring the city's rich history, tradition, and culture, offering a vibrant selection of cultural programs for youth and adults as well as leadership seminars and day activities.
Sangam, situated along the banks of the Mula River in Pune, India, is a few hours from Mumbai. Sangam, which means “coming together” in Sanskrit, engages girls in events from June to March, emphasizing cultural sharing, girls’ interests, and the rich cultural heritage of India.
Kusafiri World Centre is a project exploring how WAGGGS can provide a World Center experience using existing facilities in Africa. The "centre" has no fixed site but changes location at every event, bringing international experiences to girls and young women in different countries in Africa.
Before You Go
The informal atmosphere encourages interaction among visitors, who are expected to contribute to the daily operation of the facility. As space in these facilities is limited, visitors are asked to bring only essential items.
