Society of Women Engineers
For more than six decades, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering community. In March 2015, SWE created a new, complimentary membership category called SWENext, which is open to girls age 18 and younger. SWENext encourages girls to #BeThatEngineer by offering access to a monthly newsletter and advice column, eligibility for SWENext awards and SWE scholarships, and information about local events throughout the United States. And because families and educators play a key role in girls’ success, SWENext also offers resources and information for adult advocates. Girl Scouts of the USA has partnered with SWE to increase girls’ awareness of engineering and to support and encourage them as they explore related careers. Learn more at http://swenext.swe.org.
