Adventures in the Land of Waterfalls: July 5 - 18, 2026

Discover the natural and cultural wonders of the “Land of Waterfalls.” Western North Carolina offers an abundance of outdoor recreational activities and some of the most beautiful and beloved areas of the country.

About the Trip

Challenge yourself on a canyoneering and waterfall rappelling experience in the Pisgah National Forest. Bike to famous waterfalls in the Dupont State Forest. Never been mountain biking or rappelling? No worries! We will teach you everything you need to know. Additional activities include night hikes, swimming holes, waterfall yoga, stargazing, a summer concert, waterfall ecology, and sliding down natural cascades.

Your base camp for this Destination is nestled in the “Land of Waterfalls”, home to more than 250 cascading beauties and the Pisgah National Forest. Daily adventures will lead us to experience the endless beauty of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

World renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains and its unique Southern Appalachian Mountain culture, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is America's most visited national park. Meet with park rangers to explore diverse ecosystems and hike to several stunning waterfalls within the park boundaries.

Have you ever thought of becoming a park or forest ranger? Find out how you can join the ranks. After two weeks of waterfalls and fun, you will have earned your Waterfall Keeper certification by learning how to protect and take care of our natural wonders. Take your new skills and energy to a higher level and find a way to care for the natural wonders in your area.

As a bonus, we will be inviting some Girl Guides or Girl Scouts from other countries on this trip, so you will connect with your global sisters!
