About the Trip
Explore the treasures of Japan past and present, from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the ancient temples of Kyoto. Stroll through sacred shrines, visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, and catch a glimpse of majestic Mount Fuji. Engross yourself in the STEM-filled world of Akihabara, and experience Tokyo Disney. Feast on an authentic tempura dinner, and enjoy a special overnight stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan, an amazing cultural and learning experience.
Girl Scouts who travel on this Destination will gain a rich global perspective and appreciation for other cultures while fostering their own independence.
Who Should Apply?
Age: Girl Scouts entering grades 9–12
Interests: Culture and cuisine
Requirements: Girl Scouts must have experience being away from home for a week or more; previous international experience is preferred byt not required. Girl Scouts should be able to walk/travel several miles a day.
Equipment: Passport. Packing list will be provided after acceptance.
Ignite Your Passion! This trip is great for Girl Scouts who are interested in global cultures.
The Cost
Program fee: $7,049
The program fee includes $6,799 (subject to increase) to EF Tours and a $250 council fee to Girl Scouts of The Sierra Nevada. It includes airfare from Reno, Nevada to Japan. Girl Scouts will need to arrange transportation to and from Reno.
Deposit due upon acceptance: $250
