About the Trip
Experience summer in Maine and take your outdoor skills to a whole new level through hiking, rafting, rock climbing and more.
Get ready for an awesome wilderness adventure at Camp Natarswi, a true wilderness paradise providing a one-of-a-kind rustic, Maine experience. Get a taste of the skills needed to survive in the wilderness including learning how to tie knots, build fires, build shelters, and so much more! You’ll get to hike and explore Baxter State Park, hike along the Appalachian Trail, explore ice caves, and experience an exciting off-site whitewater rafting trip! You’ll also get to enjoy camp life and choice activities such as rock climbing, archery, swimming, boating, and more when you are on site.
Who Should Apply?
Age: Girl Scouts entering grades 7–9 in summer 2023
Interests: Outdoors, physical activity, camping
Requirements: You’ll need the ability to work well with others and have experience with camping and outdoor activities. Applicants should be in good physical condition and be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Equipment: Packing list will be provided after acceptance
Ignite Your Passion! This trip is great for Girl Scouts who are interested in environmental and wildlife conservation.
The Cost
Program fee: $1,350
(The actual cost of this program is $2,600 per participant, but each Girl Scout accepted will receive a generous grant to cover $1,250 of their costs!)
The program fee does not include airfare. Girls will need to arrange transportation to and from Bangor, Maine.
Deposit due upon acceptance: $250. (This deposit is included in your program fee.)
Final payment due: June 1, 2025
Cancellation policy: May 1, 2025, is the last day you can cancel and receive a refund (minus the deposit).
Financial aid may be available. Check with your local council.
