About the Trip

Have you ever wondered how astronauts live and work in space? Train like an astronaut for a week in our immersive Space Academy program! You'll review the history of space travel and learn about upcoming missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Your week includes astronaut simulators, hands-on engineering challenges, teamwork activities, and simulated missions in our Mission Center Complex. Do you have the right stuff? Put yourself to the test! 

Who Should Apply?

• Age: Girl Scouts entering grades 7 - 9 in summer 2024 (ages 12-14).

• Interests: space science, history, technology 

• Requirements: ability to participate in physically-challenging, immersive experiences. This may require pushing past fears or mental blocks; please reach out to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center if you have questions about the challenges.

• Equipment: Packing list to be provided after acceptance

• Ignite Your Passion! This trip is great for Girl Scouts who are interested in STEM careers or have an interest in space travel and exploration.

The Cost

Program fee: $1,349

The program fee does not include airfare. Girl Scouts will need to arrange transportation to Huntsville, AL.

Deposit due upon acceptance: $300. (This deposit is already included in your trip program fee.)

Final payment due: no later than April 26, 2024

Financial aid may be available. Check with your local council.
