Raise a Happy Girl
Whether you spend a lot of time on TikTok, or just have a teenage girl in your life, there’s a good chance you’ve heard people talking about 365 buttons for 2026. If you’re wondering what the heck that means, you’re not alone. The good news, though, is that unlike many viral social media trends, the 365 buttons craze is one that can actually teach your girl (and all of us!) positive life lessons. Let’s break it down.
In December 2025, a TikTok user going by Tamara commented on a video about ways to start the new year. In her comment, she said she was going to get “365 buttons, one for each day” because she wanted to “do more stuff” and be more conscious of the passing of time. A simple reminder to be more present and not let the days waste away? Yes, please.
Well, so many people thought Tamara’s 365 buttons idea was cute that her now-deleted comment got more than 37 thousand likes, and tons of people asking how it works and what it means. At first, Tamara answered a few questions, saying she wanted to do it to “see how quick days pass” and “just have fun and to do a lot of stuff.”
But her explanation wasn’t enough for, well, a lot of people. Not only did people continue to ask for more specifics on her original comment, but they found her personal TikTok account and started asking questions about the 365 buttons there. Tamara had essentially blown up the internet with her simple but inspiring ritual for the new year!
Tamara could have cashed in on all the attention, making her own video explaining the idea (which people were asking for), finding her 15 minutes of fame, and maybe even kickstarting a career as an inspirational influencer—but she didn’t. Instead, she drew a hard boundary, saying, “hey so it only has to make sense to me for me to do it, and I don’t feel like explaining it to anybody else.”
In this attention-obsessed world, it’s rare to see someone reject the spotlight when it’s offered to them. But Tamara knew what was right for her and respectfully said a big “nope” to her fans. Not only has she inspired so many people to make the most of the time we have right now, but she also modelled an amazing way of protecting one’s peace, showing girls (and all of us!) that they don’t owe anyone anything.
Ironically? Tamara’s statement hit such a chord that her boundary-drawing quote has gone super viral, with people posting her words over their own photos and videos.
Talk to your girl and ask her if she’s heard of the 356 buttons. It’s a great and simple way to step into your girl’s world and opens the door to a wonderful life lesson about being present, respectfully sharing your boundaries, and staying true to your own needs. Truly, great life lessons to take into the new year and beyond.
